Christmas 2012 haul!!

Hey guys,
Hope you all had a fabulous christmas.
I had an awesome christmas. Chilled on christmas day with my new dvds and my kindle and had my grandma round boxing day. It wasn't as bad as it usually is. AND she stroked one of my cats, thats a big thing because she hates animals!! Anywho, i got quite a few books for christmas. Cant wait to read them all.
These are the books i got,

Warm Bodies by Isaac Marion.
Life of Pi by Yann Martel
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher
Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia and Margaret Stohl
Goddess Interrupted (goddess test novel book 2) by Aimee Carter
The Hobbit by J.R.R Tolkien

Not a bad haul for a day :)
I cant wait to read all of them.
The book im going to start on is Goddess Interrupted as i have just read the first one and need to know what happens next... As you do when you finish any book. Even if its not a series i still want to know what happens to them.
I will be doing a review soon about the first book, Goddess Test. I did actually love it. It was a easy read but i will tell you guys all about it when i do my review.

I am mega excited to read Warm Bodies. It just looks like an interesting book. Plus its coming out at the cinema so ill probably be going to see it and i always need to read the books before i see the films. Its one of my pet hates doing that. Some of my friends don't mind but I'm the book worm of the group. Ha! Books rock!

I think I'm going to read Warm Bodies after Goddess Test. I would have read it first but i needed to read the second Goddess Test.
Don't know what order I'm going to do the rest in but i do have a target of reading them all in January.
And i will be doing reviews on all of them :)
I have got a feeling that i will be reading Beautiful Creatures after the other two. I have been looking at this far ages. Even before it was in the works for a film. The film coming out actually made me buy it. Plus it was only £2.99 for kindle... Bargain :)

Hope you guys have an awesome New Year and an Epic 2013.

Sending love to all the book lovers out there! :D

To be read list!

Hey guys!

Thought id do a post about what books i actually want to read so it can give you a taste of what reviews are to come.

The first book i am DYING to read is
Warm Bodies by Issac Marion

I am so excited to read this book. Ive watched some reviews on YouTube and they have raved about it. Ive also watched the movie trailer and it looks amazing!! If you don't know what it is... From what I've seen/read its about a zombie that had been dead quite a while and one day he sees this girl and starts becoming human. Now I'm usually one to read lovey dovey things but this seems really good. Im dying to read it so that will defiantly be on my christmas list :) should be getting money for someone! Haha!

The 2nd book i want to read is
Thirteen Reasons Why by Jay Asher

Now this book sounds really interesting... Ive read the 'product description' and it really grabbed me. I haven't actually got this book yet... If im honest with you guys ive been waiting for it to come down in price... Not working right now so need to pinch the pennys! Hehe! But think im just going to get it anyway.
Its about this girl that killed herself but before she died she recorded 13 tabes and sent them to the people that made her do it in the first place. Sounds good right. I will defiantly put a post about it. Excited :)

Another one i want to read is
Beautiful Creatures by Kami Garcia

Now I've known about this for a while but never got round to buying it. Now i know its going to be a film I'm for sure going to buy it. Also my Nurses have said that i have to buy it because it is brilliant. My nurses are fab! We talk about books all the time haha. So it will be at the top of my to be bought list :) not 100% sure what its about but going to read it any way.

Ive actually been told to read this by a friend of mine.
Wicked by Gregory Maguire

I know its a bit of a spin on Wizard of Oz but not 100% sure what its about from what I've seen on tv, etc. its about the witches of Oz and they are friends but i could be making that up so don't quote me. I not very good at knowing what books are about apparently. Haha
I am good at explaining what they are about so please keep reading my posts. Hehe

There are a few books i want that aren't even out yet. Im major sad about that.
I don't even know the name of one of them as its not even finished yet i don't think. Its the second book to Angelfall (Penryn and the end of days) by Susan Ee < i will do a full review on it soon.
This book is so good. It was a bit slow at first but once it got going i found my self actually loving it and talking to Penryn like she could hear me... Sad i know.

The second book is
Goddess by Josephine Angelini
Its the third book in the trilogy. The first book is Starcrossed, followed by Dreamless Will be doing a review soon. It'll probably be my next review as they are my favourite. I seriously cant wait to read this. Think its due out in May 2013. I will be up until midnight to buy it and put it on my kindle. So freaking excited about this book you have no idea.

So i know its a little list but thats the books that are standing out for me to read so hopefully will read them quite soon. I think Warm Bodies will be first as I'm dying to read it more than the others.

Have you guys read any of these? Let me know what you thought if you have.

Sending love

New Blood (Vampire in the City) by Donna Ansari

New Blood (Vampire in the City) by Donna Ansari

Hey guys,
Couldn't stay away any longer. Had to do another review... It was itching to do a post. Think I'm hooked. Hehe
This review is about New blood. Its a book about vampires. Its not too bad actually. Ive seen a couple of vampire books that are trying to hard and its just a copy of Twilight or Morganville.
I got this on my daily look at amazon for free books, i love looking at new books. Best part of the day for me at the moment.

So let me get on with it...

On The Back

Emma Hammond is a normal young woman living in New York City whose life changes forever when one misstep brings her very close to death. Luckily, Alex Thompson, a handsome stranger (who also happens to be a vampire), jumps in to save her, turning Emma into a vampire. She quickly discovers the numerous advantages (no more allergies, glasses, or acne) and slight drawbacks (wanting to eat her boyfriend) of joining the ranks of the creatures of the night. But Emma soon finds out her new undead life isn't all it's cracked up to be when she gets pulled in to an age-old dispute between two feuding vampire clans.

I really enjoyed this book. I got it for free on day the other month and thought 'ill give it a go, what have i got to loose?' and I'm glad i did. After i read it ended up buying the other two books and reading them all in like 4 days.
I did find it a bit random how well she took the news. In most of the books you read when someone gets made a vampire they freak out and go on a mini rampage and stir up some trouble some where or they simply don't believe. I was expecting something to kick off but it turns out shes fine with it and she drinks from her boyfriend for the first time and doesn't even kill him!! Kinda disappointed with that if I'm honest because he's a major Dick!!!!!
But i did get over it as i got a bit further in.

After Emma is made she goes back to the house and feeds her cat, Gypsy, love the fact that she has and cat. She doesn't even have one thought about killing her. Awesome.

Also when its dawn and they need to sleep i found it interesting that all vampires just pass out wether they want to or not. Where ever they are they just drop. Its a nice twist to a normal thing. And the older they are the longer they sleep.
The next night Emma and her Maker, Alex, go and see the 'King' of the vampires as every new vampire should. He is another dick and you want to stake him too. Think its just the men in this book i don't like. Even Alex has his moments!
When they arrive and after the king gives a little speech, he sets them a task to carry out for him because Emma was made without his permission! Or so he says...
I don't really wanna tell you what the mission it because it might spoil it and I'm not about spoilers in my blog... They are no fun at all.
The characters we're worked really well together i thought. You do believe that Emma and Alex are meant to be ( thats not really a spoiler because its quite obvious lol). And I'm actually glad to see the back of the ex! Really really don't like him but thats what the writer might have wanted us to feel about him.

I cant really tell you much else without telling you the entire story so give it a go yourself.
On kindle it is currently 77p so its a right bargain its only 216pages but its a light read. So if you like easy readers or something that you like to read in basically a day, this is the book for you.
I don't actually think it is available on paper back which is a shame but all you kindle users are good to go :)

I gave it a 4 out of 5 star rating as i didn't like the reaction after Emma was made. I don't know why i didn't like it so much... I just didn't lol

Let me know what you guys think if you give it a go :)

Before I Go To Sleep by S.J Watson

I read this book about a month ago and really enjoyed it.
I found my self actually racing through it so i could see what happened next.

What it says on the back.

Memories define us.

So what if you lost yours every time you went to sleep?

Your name, your identity, your past, even the people you love - all forgotten overnight.

And the one person you trust may only be telling you half the story.

Welcome to Christine's life.

This book is actually quite interesting. Its about this woman called Christine and every time she wakes up she has no memory of the past 20 years or so. She wakes up thinking shes a teenager somedays, a kid others and some that she is in collage with her best friend and living the good life.
When all that crashes around her and finds shes married to a guy called Ben and she is actually in her 50s. I would freak out if that was me i gotta tell ya.
So everyday her husband has to tell her about her life... But he does leave out some important details.
Im not going to tell you what because that might actually spoil some things for you.
She had an accident in her late 20s and thats made her memory a bit all over the place.
The book is in three parts and the 2nd part is in diary form. Which i quite liked, I do like books in dairy form sometimes.
The beginning is a bit slow but you do find your self engrossed as you read on.
I did actually guess what was going on half way through but even still i couldn't put it down. It was a good twist near the end. Have in said that i did not like the end that much... It leaves you a little unsatisfied with it but that was just me. I have read reviews that said they loved the ending but i didn't.
It leaves you asking questions not feeling like they have been answered.

In all i gave this a 4 out of 5 stars and would read again for sure.
I would recommend this book but i don't think its for everyone. Like i was going to get my mom to read it but she would have hated it so tread lightly.
Its quite cheap on amazon kindle so its worth a buy i think.

Let me know what you guys think :)

Sending love :)
